This camp is for rising 5th & 6th graders.  It takes place at St. Francis of the Woods Retreat Center.  The dates this summer are July 16-20, 2012.

Scholarships are available.  It’s a small camp with a maximum of 16 campers, so it’s an excellent small group experience designed especially for children who needs this kind of opportunity but who otherwise might not get it.

The camp focuses on teamwork, conflict resolution shared leadership, clear communication, and developing internalized self-discipline.

We drum, howl, laugh, and talk. Bring a drum and a snack of your choice and join us.

Each drumming event is preceded by a vegetarian potluck. Potluck is at 7:30, drumming begins at 8:00 p.m.

We will be joining others who want to drum and do some ceremony together on this special evening. Bring your drums and rattles.

Janet Sanders of Toronto, Canada will facilitate this unique experience. Jan is founder of PEOPLEnergy, teaches Social Artistry™ programs internationally. She combines Social Artistry™ leadership curriculum with development themes, including community development and indigenous wisdom. Jan is a facilitator, program designer, project manager and trainer with 20 years international experience with the Institute of Cultural Affairs where she helped pioneer methods of wholistic community development. All that, and she’s a great human being as well!

The day’s events will take place on the wooded 30 acre home of the Peace Education Institute. Camping on the land Friday night is an option.
